Project
Internship: Terabase
Two summers at Terabase Energy, prototyping robotics for a mobile factory that assembles industrial-scale solar installations on site.
In the summers of 2021 and 2022, I worked at Terabase Energy, a company changing the way industrial-scale solar is assembled on site. The first summer, I was part of a roughly 7-person team doing alpha development of a mobile factory environment — here's the press release for that project.
My main project was developing a prototype of the system that would depalletize the solar modules, then dispense them onto the assembly line. The prototype "rover" was built from brushed linear actuators, and I prototyped a control system using brushed motor drives with custom programming of an RC airplane controller.
I'm not able to share details from my second summer at this time.
